# Smart Contracts

The Obsydian protocol operates through a series of smart contracts designed to secure users' assets. Key aspects of these contracts include:

* Factory Smart Contract
* Protection Smart Contract
* Oracle - Backend Timelapse and Transfers 

*Note: Obsydian is primarily intended to be used with externally owned accounts (EOAs) but if used with smart contracts the balance transfers are limited to a gas ceiling of 2300, so we advise using the protection only for EOAs.*
